Jim Quinn to join SHAPE Group Board as new Independent Chairperson

Jim Quinn attended his first SHAPE Group board meeting this April. As of 1st May 2023, Quinn will start as Chairperson of the Board at SHAPE Group, alongside fellow Directors Hideaki Fukutake, Paul Cameron, and Andrew Edwards.

With a wealth of experience in executive management and governance, Jim Quinn is expected to bring valuable insights and expertise to SHAPE as we continue to expand and grow.

Jim Quinn’s impressive career includes serving as the CEO of KiwiRail, where he led the transformation of the company from a state-owned enterprise to a successful commercial business. Quinn also served as the Chief of Strategy at Auckland Council and the CEO of Express Couriers, a joint venture between New Zealand Post and DHL. In addition, he has held General Management roles in various industries, including New Zealand Post, Advantage Group, WEL Energy, QED Software, and New Zealand Couriers.

Currently, Jim Quinn is the chair at Payments New Zealand, ComplyPro, and SmartCo Ltd, and serves as a director and shareholder in Tubman Heating and a director at Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Rawa Ltd and Eastland Group. Quinn is also a partner in QLG Advisory and has significant governance experience with companies such as MCom, Lyttleton Port, Ngai Tahu Tanui GoBus, Uniquitome, and Intilecta.

With such a diverse background and extensive experience, Jim Quinn is a valuable addition to the SHAPE Group team. As SHAPE continues to expand and innovate in the New Zealand energy infrastructure industry, Quinn’s leadership and strategic guidance will be crucial to our success.
